Islamabad, April 29, 2026: Sona Welfare Foundation (SWF), the implementing partner of Fauji Fertilizer Company, has launched two major education and health initiatives worth PKR 236 million in collaboration with Pakistan Poverty Alleviation Fund (PPAF) and Orange Tree Foundation (OTF).
The initiatives, introduced on April 29, 2026, aim to expand access to quality education and specialized healthcare services for underserved communities across Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Punjab.Under the new programs, SWF launched the Integrated Health, Rehabilitation and Inclusive Education Initiative in partnership with PPAF, alongside the OTF x SWF Scholarship Program with OTF.
The scholarship program will provide fully funded scholarships to deserving students from Sindh, KPK, and Punjab for degree programs at universities across Pakistan.
The launch ceremony was attended by senior leadership from all partner organizations, including Jahangir Piracha, Chairman SWF; Nadir Barech; and Omer Mateen Allahwala.Speaking at the event, Air Commodore (Retd.) Syed Farooq Ahmed Bokhari said:“These programs are built on the core principle that no business is successful if the community around it fails. By investing PKR 236 million into these initiatives, we are providing the youth of Sindh, KPK and Punjab with the resources to break the cycle of poverty.
These programs will help communities by fostering academic excellence and providing essential health and rehabilitation services, ultimately creating a more resilient and self-reliant society.”The initiatives reflect SWF’s continued commitment to inclusive development and social investment, with a focus on improving education, healthcare, and socio-economic opportunities for rural and semi-urban communities across Pakistan.
