Mumbai: India’s famous industrialist Ratan Tata passed away at the age of 86.
According to Indian media, Ratan Tata was undergoing treatment at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai where he died on Wednesday. He was brought to the hospital a few days ago complaining of low blood pressure, where he was in the intensive care ward.
Three days ago, the news of Ratan Tata’s death came to light, but his social media denied it and said that he is perfectly fit and healthy.
The death of Ratan Tata has been mourned by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi and personalities from politics, industry and film world.
Ratan Tata led the Tata Group from March 1991 to December 2012 and took Tata Sons to new heights, with the Tata Group worth over $365 billion as of March 2024.
According to the Tata Group’s website, the Tata Group’s companies combined to generate revenue of $165 billion in 2023-24. The Tata Group’s 30 companies employ a total of over 1 million people.
Famous Tata Group companies include Tata Steel, Tata Consultancy Services, Tata Motors, Indian Hotels, Air India, Jaguar Land Rover, Titan, Infiniti Retail (Croma), Trent (Westside, Zodio, Zara).
