According to Steve Witkoff, Zelensky apologized by sending a letter to Donald Trump, in which he expressed regret for the incident that occurred at the White House.
After this bitter meeting at the White House, US House of Representatives Speaker Mike Johnson took a tough stance and said that Zelensky must come to his senses, if he is not ready for negotiations, someone else should lead Ukraine.
According to reports, after the apology of the Ukrainian president, US special envoy Steve Witkoff will soon visit Moscow, where he will meet Russian President Vladimir Putin. However, the final date of the visit has not been announced yet.
A few days ago, a meeting between Donald Trump and Zelensky in the Oval Office turned into a bitter exchange of words. Angrily, Trump asked Zelensky to leave the White House and stated that Zelensky was not ready for peace, and that he could return only when he was ready.
After the incident, Zelensky initially refused to apologize and said that what happened in the White House was not good, and that he did not intend to go there again. However, his apology has now created the possibility of new developments in US-Ukrainian relations.
