California: Instant messaging application WhatsApp will stop supporting 35 older smartphones by the end of this year.
The update from the Meta subsidiary will affect Android and iPhone users alike.
The move by WhatsApp is part of the app’s efforts to focus on devices that can support its latest features and security updates.
Affected users will have to upgrade their smartphones to use the app without interruption.
The following smartphones are the ones that WhatsApp will stop supporting.

iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus, iPhone SE.
Samsung:
Galaxy S Plus, Galaxy Core, Galaxy Express 2, Galaxy Grand, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy S4 Active, Galaxy S4 Mini, Galaxy S4 Zoom.
