Technology company Meta has announced that it will allow users to link their WhatsApp accounts to Facebook and Instagram.
The tech company is going to introduce a feature for users, using which WhatsApp can be added to the Meta Accounts Center (the company’s central hub) and other Meta app profiles (including other social media apps and virtual reality headsets Quest) can be linked and managed.
Meta said that adding WhatsApp to the Accounts Center will be optional and its default setting will be off, while private WhatsApp messages and calls will remain end-to-end encrypted.
In a blog post, Meta said that using the Link Up tool, users will be able to easily share WhatsApp statuses as Facebook and Instagram Stories. At the same time, users will be able to easily log back in when needed.
This feature will be gradually released to users globally in the coming weeks and months.
