The United Arab Emirates is set to compete in the Miss Universe pageant for the first time.
The UAE’s participation was announced on the official Instagram account of the Miss Universe Organization (MUO).
In an Instagram post, Indonesian businesswoman Poppy Capella has been appointed as the national director of the UAE and Supers. Capella has previously served as the national director of Miss Universe Indonesia and Malaysia.
Emilia Dobreva, a fashion model and mother of three from the UAE, will represent the UAE in the 73rd Miss Universe pageant.
The pageant will be held in Mexico on November 16. According to a report by Khaleej Times, Dobreva will wear an abaya in the national costume round, while she will also wear other outfits in the remaining rounds.
It should be noted that Dobreva was crowned Miss Universe UAE in October, where she beat four other candidates.
The Miss Universe UAE organization shared a photo of the model on its official Instagram account, praising her beauty, intelligence, and ability to inspire others.
It should be remembered that Miss Universe is a global beauty contest in which beautiful women from all over the world are selected and one of them receives the crown and title of ‘Miss Universe’.
