KARACHI: The United Arab Emirates team declared the aviation security at Karachi and Islamabad airports to be of international standard.
According to the spokesperson of CAA, the General Civil Aviation Authority of the United Arab Emirates has completed its visit to Jinnah Terminal Airport. Earlier, the Emirates Aviation Security Team visited Islamabad International Airport. Led by Senior Director Abdullah Al Kaabi, the Emirati team inspected various aviation security areas at both airports.
The team reviewed passenger and baggage screening, cargo and catering security in aviation security matters, the guest team also reviewed direct (UAE) airlines, ground handling agents, regulated cargo agents and catering companies.
The team also examined security access/access control, aircraft security checks and other related procedures. Along with reviewing national (PIA) and other airlines security documents, the Emirates team thanked Civil Aviation for their excellent hospitality during the de-briefing session.
The visiting team expressed satisfaction over the security protocols of the airport management, ASF, airlines, cargo companies and other stakeholders.
Al Kaabi, senior director of the team, said on this occasion that the security protocols are in line with international standards and prevailing best practices. This assessment visit of the Emirati Aviation Security Team was the first of its kind. This is a continuation of the assessment done by the British DFT.
