The World Bank has approved $150 million in funds for Pakistan, the money will be spent on improving education facilities in Punjab.
The World Bank statement said that 7 million children are out of school in Punjab province, 5 million children will benefit from the funds.
It should be noted that a week ago, the World Bank had approved a loan of one billion dollars for Dasu Dam. The provision of additional funds by the World Bank is a major development in terms of funding required to generate environmentally friendly and affordable hydropower in Pakistan.
This is the largest financing facility by the World Bank for any project in Pakistan. This concessional financing facility consists of IDA and IBRD.
