Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the sufferings of the Muslims of Gaza are an open mockery of the international community.
While addressing the United Nations Summit of the Future, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that there is a danger of dividing the world due to new global challenges and increasing tension. Justice and equality are essential to unite the world. The plight of the Muslims of Gaza is an open mockery of the international community.
Shahbaz Sharif further said that debt piles on economically weak countries, economic division, intolerance, terrorism, illegal occupation and increase in poverty are obstacles to global unity. Reforms of the global economic structure are essential for achieving the Sustainable Development Goals. Concessional loans, development assistance and increased lending from development banks can contribute to sustainable development in economically weaker countries. The international community has to think about innovative ways of investing in development.
The Prime Minister said that innovation in technology is the guarantee of development in the present age. Equal access to modern technology is of key importance for everyone, especially in the Southern countries of the planet. We need to protect the world from misuse of technology. Injustice and inequality provide opportunities for exploitation by evil elements at local and international levels. Equal access to modern technology for every person, especially in the countries of the global south, is of key importance.
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres also addressed the meeting along with the leaders of various countries.
