BEIJING: The Chinese government has imposed sanctions on seven US military industrial companies and their management for supplying weapons to Taiwan.
APP reported, citing the Russian news agency Tass, that the Chinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement regarding the sanctions on US military industrial companies that the said sanctions will take effect from December 27.
The US military industrial companies targeted by China include Aircom, Hudson Technologies, Institute, Oceaneering International, Raytheon Australia, Raytheon Canada and Saronic Technologies.
The statement said that the sanctions have frozen the real estate and other assets of the said US companies and their related personnel in China.
Under the sanctions, Chinese entities and individuals will be prohibited from engaging in any transactions, cooperation or other types of interaction with the said US companies.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry has pointed out that the United States has recently announced a major arms sale to Taiwan, along with providing large-scale aid.
The statement said that the US defense budget draft for fiscal year 2025 includes a number of negative provisions regarding China, which is completely against the one-China principle.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry said that this is a serious interference in our country’s internal affairs, which has seriously damaged our sovereignty and territorial integrity.
