British-born Pakistani journalist, writer and filmmaker Reham Khan shared an old photo of herself as a bride on Instagram, along with an emotional message.
The photo quickly went viral on social media and fans expressed mixed reactions to it.
Reham Khan, mentioning the bitter memories of the past in the caption, wrote a poem ‘Remembering the past is a punishment, O Lord, take away my memory’.
Criticizing social norms, she said that women are burdened by traditions and customs, be it makeup, jewelry or chains of responsibilities.
Giving a positive message for women, she said: “Come, change the world for your daughters, liberate them, they will never become a burden, but will be the hands that will support you in your old age.”
Reham Khan’s first marriage was to Ijaz Rehman in 1993, which ended in divorce in 2005. Her second marriage was to former Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2014, but it ended in divorce in 2015.
Reham Khan’s third marriage was to American model and actor Mirza Bilal, and she is currently living a happy life with him.
