These countries may include Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Iran, Lebanon, Libya, Palestine, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen.
In addition, South Korea, Cuba, Haiti and Venezuela may also be included in the list of countries on which the US travel ban will be imposed.
According to US media reports, citizens of these countries may be banned from traveling to the US, and the Trump administration is preparing to issue an executive order in this regard.
Under the new travel ban policy, these countries will be divided into two groups. Citizens of the countries included in the ‘Orange Group’ will be able to travel to the US in a limited number of cases.
While the governments of the countries included in the ‘Yellow Group’ will be given two months to improve their passenger screening systems.
The US State Department confirmed that it is working on the new policy, but a spokesperson declined to comment further.
The Trump administration’s move could potentially further tighten US immigration policies for countries with poor screening practices.
