A just solution to the Kashmir issue is essential for peace

A just solution to the Kashmir issue is essential for peace
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

Kashmir Solidarity Day was observed with the resolve that no matter how much India tries to crush the freedom struggle of the Kashmiris, it cannot suppress the voice of the Kashmiris nor can it eliminate the feelings and emotions of Pakistanis who are in harmony with their voice and the only solution to the Kashmir dispute lies in the resolutions of the Security Council. On this occasion, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif have urged the international community to put pressure on India so that the Kashmiri people can be allowed to freely determine their future for lasting peace in the region.

The Muslims of Jammu and Kashmir had ideologically linked their future with Pakistan even before the formation of Pakistan. Pakistan’s founder Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah called Kashmir the jugular vein of Pakistan. The people of Pakistan have never left the Kashmiri people alone in every hour of trial and difficulty, while the Pakistani people and government have always continued to provide political, diplomatic and moral support to the oppressed Kashmiris, rather it would not be wrong to say that the hearts of Pakistanis beat with the Kashmiris.

On the other hand, India has heated up the market of killing and destruction in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Even in these circumstances, Kashmiris bury the bodies of their children wrapped in the Pakistani flag and send a message to India that we are Pakistanis and Pakistan is ours. Our hearts beat with Pakistan and they are not ready to live with India.

On August 5, 2019, India took illegal and unilateral steps to end the special status of Jammu and Kashmir and imposed the worst lockdown in the history of the world in the region, Kashmiris were imprisoned and occupied Jammu and Kashmir was turned into the world’s largest prison. Now, through a conspiracy, Kashmiris are being deprived of their lands and homes. India believes that this is the time to end the love of Pakistan from the hearts of Kashmiris. The propaganda of freezing the Kashmir issue for a few decades and Pakistan’s withdrawal from the Kashmir issue is being done especially on social media, that is, the Indian lobby is leaving no stone unturned to make the Kashmiris disappointed with Pakistan. Pakistan has always said that the most serious aspect of the Kashmir issue is humanity.

India itself has also admitted in the form of UN resolutions that a plebiscite will be held in Kashmir. Pakistan has been saying that the Kashmir issue is a matter of the future of millions of people. India is using the atrocities and brutality and rape of women in occupied Jammu and Kashmir as a weapon to suppress the freedom movement. India used every possible cruel tactic to suppress the voice of Kashmiris, but it could not succeed in suppressing the Kashmiri spirit of freedom.

Pakistan has made the voice of Kashmiris heard around the world and has been continuously urging the international community to play its role in resolving the Kashmir issue. The only solution to the Kashmir dispute lies in the Security Council resolutions. Various human rights organizations say that the large-scale deployment of Indian troops and the implementation of black laws are the main reasons for human rights violations in the occupied territory. India and Pakistan have fought wars in 1965, 1971 and 1999, but there has been no solution to the Kashmir issue. During this time, there have also been several incursions along the borders. There are currently about seven lakh Indian troops in occupied Kashmir. This is the highest per capita ratio of soldiers anywhere in the world.

The Indian army has been accused of human rights violations by international organizations such as Human Rights Watch, Amnesty International, Physicians for Human Rights and local organizations such as the Coalition for Civil Society. These include extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, the use of civilians as human shields, torture, fake encounters, massacres, mass graves, the destruction of businesses and homes, the burning of residential areas, and the occupation of school and university buildings.

The United Nations, which was established to engage in a concerted and effective struggle to resolve disputes between its member states, has become so entrenched in American and European interests that it cannot be expected to play an independent role. Of the 30 fundamental human rights listed in the United Nations’ international document, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, none of them are found in occupied Jammu and Kashmir due to the presence of more than one million Indian soldiers. The Kashmir freedom movement has now moved towards its logical conclusion. The journey of the dark night is about to end, the dawn of freedom is about to dawn.
