LAHORE: After the heavy rain this morning, on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, WASA Lahore started drainage work from across the city.
In this regard, MD Wasa Ghafran Ahmed visited the low-lying areas to assess the rain situation.
Director Gulbarg Town Sohail Qadir Cheema gave a detailed briefing to MD WASA regarding the drainage operation, MD WASA Ghafran Ahmed instructed to clear the entire city as soon as possible by using all heavy machinery.
Ghafran Ahmed said that at present all the disposal stations are being run at full capacity to clear all the highways, while the disposal stations are being run on generators in the power cut areas.
According to MD Vasa Vasa Lahore, 114 mm rain was recorded at Jail Road, Airport 144 mm, Head Office Gulberg 141, Lakshmi Chowk 153, Upper Mall 118, Mughalpura 128, Tajpura 126, Nishtar Town 165 and Chowk Na Khuda 123 mm. has been done
