Miss America pageant winner Cadence Frederickson, 18, has been in a serious accident.
Cadence Frederickson won the “Miss Okaloosa County Teen USA” pageant at a young age and recently received a $40,000 college scholarship.
According to reports, Cadence was driving on a Florida highway on February 17 when her car collided with a tractor-trailer. The accident was so severe that Cadence died at the scene. Police officials are investigating the accident to determine the exact cause.
According to the Florida Highway Patrol, Cadence’s car accident occurred on Monday on State Highway 4, where her car collided with a tractor-trailer. The 56-year-old tractor driver suffered minor injuries, while Cadence died.
Cadence’s mother said the accident happened just three minutes from her home. Cadence’s sudden death has left her family, friends and the entire community in mourning.
Cadence Fredrickson announced on her Instagram on February 7 that she had received a scholarship from the Allison McCraney Ingram Foundation. She made the happy announcement just a week before her death.
Cadence wrote on her Instagram, “This generous support will help shape my future and fulfill my dreams. Thank you to the Ingram family, the foundation, and everyone involved!”
According to family members, Cadence had received offers from nine colleges, and her dream was to become a veterinarian.
When Cadence was crowned Little Miss Northwest Florida in 2017, she started a charity program called “Kida Promise,” which provided teddy bears and blankets to children in foster care, homeless and violence shelters, and hospitals. In addition to her charity work through “Kida Promise,” Cadence also raised $25,000 for the Ronald McDonald House.
