Meta has announced an investment of more than $60 billion in artificial intelligence (AI) in 2025.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg said in a post on his Facebook page that 2025 will be a major milestone for AI, in which Meta will be at the forefront. He said that the company will build a new and large data center for its AI projects, which will further develop Meta’s core products and business in the coming years.
Mark Zuckerberg said that this investment will open the doors to historic innovations and further solidify American dominance in the field of technology. The announcement came a few days after US President Donald Trump’s statement, in which he announced an investment of $500 billion in AI infrastructure.
On Trump’s announcement, his ally Elon Musk said that the required funds for this investment were not actually available. On the other hand, Microsoft President Brad Smith has also indicated an investment of about $80 billion this fiscal year on building AI data centers, training AI models, and promoting cloud-based applications.
Brad Smith said in an online post that the United States is fully prepared to be at the forefront of this new technology wave.
