According to a statement issued by the Election Commission of Pakistan, local government by-elections are being held in 25 districts of Balochistan today, Sunday, January 26, 2025. 167 candidates are contesting for 50 general wards in these elections.
All electoral and security arrangements for the elections have been completed. The necessary equipment for polling was handed over to the presiding officers on Saturday.
A total of 60 polling stations and 138 polling booths have been set up in these 25 districts of the province, where the total number of registered voters is 43,784. The voting process will continue from 8 am to 5 pm without any break.
