Karachi: During the protest of the religious group, sit-ins are ongoing at different locations in Karachi, however, according to a statement issued by the Traffic Police Karachi, traffic flow is continuing as usual on most of the city’s roads and alternative routes.
According to the Traffic Police, traffic is being diverted through alternative routes at the sit-ins and steps are being taken to save citizens from difficulties. The main sit-in in Karachi is at Nasheed Chowrangi.
While other sit-ins include Gulistan-e-Jauhar Kamran Chowrangi, Abu-ul-Hasan Isfahani Road, North Nazimabad Five Star Chowrangi, University Road, Surjani Road, Ancholi, Nawab Siddique Ali Khan Road, Chowrangi Nazimabad, Power House Chowrangi, Main Ayesha Manzil and Korangi No. 2.
Traffic Police Karachi says that traffic flow is maintained on both tracks of Shara-e-Faisal, and the rush of vehicles in the city is as usual. However, the traffic police have advised citizens to take precautionary measures and stay away from protest sites.
The traffic police have further said that commuters are requested to exercise restraint and if it is necessary to go to protest areas, then choose alternative routes to avoid inconvenience. Citizens have also been directed to contact the traffic helpline 1915 for guidance.
A spokesperson for the religious party says that the sit-in has not been ended at any location.
