According to a statement issued by the Prime Minister’s Office, a review meeting was held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif regarding the performance of the committee established to provide food items at affordable prices during the holy month of Ramadan.
The Prime Minister appreciated the performance of the committee and the Islamabad administration in controlling the prices of food items during the holy month of Ramadan and making essential commodities available to the public at low rates.
Speaking in the meeting, the Prime Minister said that it should be ensured that no profiteer escapes punishment and no innocent person comes under punishment, and that they are determined to provide maximum relief to the public during the holy month of Ramadan.
He directed that public representatives and federal ministers should ensure visits to the Ramadan Bazaar, convenience stalls and other designated places established in Islamabad to provide affordable essential commodities to the public. The price control system should be continuously monitored so that there is no reduction in the provision of relief to the public.
In the meeting, the Prime Minister was briefed about the measures taken to reduce prices, the convenience centers established to provide affordable food items and the measures taken against profiteers.
