Addressing a ceremony held at PM House on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that the role of women is important in strengthening the country’s economy. The federation and all provinces are jointly implementing a plan to empower women.

He said that cooperation with women and their training should be ensured in all sectors of life. The Prime Minister said that the CM Women Empowerment Program has started in Punjab as the PM Women Empowerment Package. The dream of national development cannot be realized until we provide opportunities to women alongside men in all walks of life.

The Prime Minister said that the government is committed to women empowerment. For this, we will have to travel a long way, as a result of which women will be empowered. We have to bring women into the mainstream, including in the import and export sectors, this is how Pakistan will become a great country.

Shahbaz Sharif said that at present, we have to work hard, hard and only hard work. The number of women in the country is 50 percent. In rural areas, women work alongside men in all areas of life, especially sowing, harvesting crops or using machinery, in all of which they work as hard as men.

He said that women work like men in all kinds of cold and hot weather. In big cities, women work alongside men in all areas, educated women in cities will have to move forward so that we can succeed in making Pakistan a great country.

The Prime Minister said that the role of mothers in educating their children is the most important for the development and progress of nations. Our Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) used to spread his cloak to welcome his daughter Hazrat Fatima Zahra (RA). Hazrat Khadija was also a businesswoman. She said that Islam is the greatest standard bearer of women’s rights and encourages women’s rights. Islam does not prohibit women from working within the framework of Sharia.

Empowering women is indispensable for the prosperity and development of Pakistan, the Prime Minister
Earlier, on the occasion of International Women’s Day, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in his ongoing message that today we renew that women are the architects of our society, the pillars of our homes and are playing an important role in building our future.

He further said in his message that women play a very important role in our lives. From classrooms to boardrooms, from fields to frontlines, Pakistani women are shaping the bright future of our nation.

The Prime Minister said that this year’s International Women’s Day theme “For all women and girls: Rights. Equality and Empowerment” is actually a reiteration of a commitment, which reminds us of our shared responsibility to create a society in which women play a significant role.

Shehbaz Sharif said that our religion, Islam, places great emphasis on the dignity and rights of women. The Government of Pakistan has made significant progress in advancing women’s rights through policy interventions, legal reforms and institutional support.

He said that our journey towards true gender equality is not over yet. Empowering women is essential for Pakistan’s prosperity and development. When we invest in women’s education, health and economic freedom, we not only develop individuals but also future generations.

The Prime Minister said, “Come on! Today, let us reaffirm our collective resolve to further advance respect for women’s rights and intensify our efforts to build a Pakistan where every woman’s potential is realized and every daughter’s dream is within her reach.”
