Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has announced the Ramadan package, under which money will be provided to 4 million families in the country.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony of the Ramadan package in the federal capital, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said that this year 4 million families (which makes up about 20 million people) will be given Rs 5,000 per household through digital wallet.

A huge amount of Rs 20 billion allocated

He thanked Allah and said that inflation is lower this year in Ramadan compared to the past. This year, the government has allocated a huge amount of Rs 20 billion for the Ramadan package, which will benefit 4 million Pakistani families.

The Prime Minister said that last year this amount was Rs 7 billion, which has been increased by 200 percent to Rs 20 billion this year.

Addressing the ceremony, the Prime Minister said that the Ramadan package is being introduced for the entire country without any discrimination, which will enable deserving families from all cities from Karachi to Gilgit to benefit from this package.

Transparency of Ramadan Package

He said that the efforts of the State Bank, tech institutions and NADRA for the transparency of the Ramadan Package 2025 are commendable. The result of the hard work of these institutions is that the Ramadan package will reach the deserving people.

Will not rest on our laurels until terrorism is eradicated

The Prime Minister said that the nation and institutions are determined to uproot terrorism to make the country safe. We will dig such a grave for this scourge that it will be impossible for it to emerge again. We will not rest on our laurels until terrorism is eradicated.

Reacting to the suicide blast that took place yesterday, he said that the incident of the martyrdom of Maulana Hamidul Haq and others in Akora Khattak is sad, over which the entire nation is saddened. We condemn this blast. He expressed hope that the KP government will bring the culprits of the incident to justice.

Shahbaz Sharif said that terrorism was eradicated in 2018. 80,000 Pakistanis sacrificed their lives for the establishment of peace in the country, similarly, the sacrifices of the officers, soldiers of the Pakistan Army, police and other law enforcement agencies were also made to make the beloved homeland safe, but once again the scourge of terrorism is raising its head, everyone knows the reasons for this, I do not want to go into details at the moment.

Trillions of rupees in revenue are pending, all will be collected
The Prime Minister, while addressing the ceremony, said that trillions of rupees in revenue that the government has to collect are pending in the courts and various forums. The dollar was touching the sky till 2022-23, then the banks made windfall profits, on which tax was levied, they took stay orders.

Shahbaz Sharif said that the Sindh High Court lifted a stay order, as a result of which the Governor of the State Bank withdrew Rs 23 billion from the banks in a single day and transferred it to the national treasury. The Prime Minister said that this is just the beginning, we will withdraw this from the banks that make profits of trillions of rupees.

Getting rid of utility stores
Shehbaz Sharif said that we are now getting rid of utility stores. They will be privatized, which will improve. He said that under the Ramadan package, people will no longer have to stand in queues, but they will be able to get relief from digital wallets in a dignified manner.

He said that corruption in utility stores was at its peak, now a regular system has been made, under which the Ramadan package will be closely monitored.

The Prime Minister prayed that Allah Almighty accepts the efforts made by the country’s institutions for the people and, with the blessings of the holy month, ends the problems and troubles faced by Pakistan and Pakistanis.
