Islamabad: Federal Minister for Privatization Abdul Aleem Khan has said that issues for the privatization of PIA are being resolved quickly, good news will be available soon.
The Federal Minister for Privatization, Board of Investment and Communications, while discussing the progress made so far regarding the privatization of PIA, said that the start of PIA flights to Islamabad-Europe is a welcome development. The start of this flight operation of PIA will prove to be a milestone for the privatization of this organization. Now people are confident that they will be able to travel to Europe in PIA.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that soon, God willing, PIA will also receive good news about making it operational in the UK and the US. Various issues hindering the privatization of PIA have been resolved, now the steps will be taken quickly. The IMF has approved two important issues for the sale of PIA.
The Federal Minister said that 18% sales tax on the purchase of new aircraft will be abolished, all losses of PIA will be transferred to the holding company, and Pakistan International Airlines will be sold without any old dues.
He said that after these reforms, the purchase of PIA will become more attractive for “investors”, matters for the privatization of PIA are being dealt with quickly, good news will be received soon.
