MUMBAI: Famous Bollywood actress Tabassum Fatima Hashmi, known to the world as Tabu, has been in the news not only for her extraordinary acting but also for her personal life controversies.
Tabassum Fatima Hashmi’s stage name is Tabu, she was born on November 4, 1971, in a Hyderabadi Muslim family. Her father Jamal Ali Hashmi, who was once an actor in Pakistan, left the family after moving to India.
Tabu has never used her father’s name and said, “I have never felt the need to meet my father, I have no memory of him in my life, I am happy with my life as it is.”
Tabassum has shown the essence of her brilliant acting not only in Bollywood but also in regional films. Her famous films include Matchas, Chandni Bar, Maqbool, Haider, The Namesake, Cheeni Kum.

Tabassum’s personal life has also always been in the news, her first relationship was with actor Sanjay Kapoor, but it ended soon.
