Lahore: In an ongoing effort to curb gas theft, Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) intensified its operations across Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, and Islamabad, disconnecting an additional 61 connections and imposing fines totaling Rs 1.4 million.
In Lahore, SNGPL teams disconnected 14 connections for illegal gas usage and 1 for the use of a compressor. In Faisalabad, 3 connections were cut for illegal usage, accompanied by a fine of Rs 0.05 million. The Sheikhupura team disconnected 4 connections due to illegal gas use, imposing fines amounting to Rs 1.37 million. In Multan, 25 connections were severed for illegal gas usage, with an additional 6 disconnected for compressor use. The Sahiwal team disconnected 1 connection for illegal usage, while the Bahawalpur team severed 7 connections for compressor usage.
