Islamabad, October 21, 2025: Foundation University Islamabad (FUI) held its Convocation 2025 for the Faculty of Management Sciences, Faculty of Arts & Social Sciences, and Faculty of Engineering & IT at Topi Rakh Comlex, near Ayub Park. Lt Gen Muhammad Ali HI (M) (Retd.), Secretary, Ministry of Defence and Chancellor FUI, graced the occasion as Chief Guest. Major General Muhammad Kaleem Asif HI (M) (Retd), Rector FUI and Acting Director, Prof. Dr. Shaheena Ayub Bhatti, FUSST, were also there.
A total of 1,092 students, including 13 PhD scholars, were awarded degrees across diverse programmes. In recognition of outstanding academic performance, 20 gold medals, 17 silver medals, 47 distinction certificates, and 104 merit certificates were conferred. With this convocation, FUI’s total graduates reached 13,512, including 121 PhD scholars.
Presenting the annual report, Prof. Dr. Shaheena Ayub Bhatti highlighted that FUI continues to innovate its academic landscape to meet future demands. She announced the launch of the Foundation University Virtual Education Campus, a state-of-the-art digital platform expanding access to higher education nationwide. She also shared the introduction of a BS in Artificial Intelligence and a forthcoming MS in Psychology, along with expanding programmes in FinTech, Business Analytics, and Aviation Management.
She emphasised FUI’s commitment to transforming into an entrepreneurial university by integrating extensive internships and updating curricula to align with HEC’s new schemes of study.
Addressing the graduates, Lt Gen Muhammad Ali HI (M) (Retd.), Secretary Defence and Chancellor FUI, congratulated the students and their families on their achievements and commended FUI’s dedication to academic excellence and diversity.
He underscored the importance of interdisciplinarity and the equal significance of sciences and humanities in shaping a progressive society. He urged graduates to enter professional life with confidence, grace, and purpose, and to contribute meaningfully to national development.
The ceremony concluded with the Rector presenting the University Plaque to the Chief Guest, marking the close of a memorable event celebrating academic excellence and the promising future of FUI graduates.
