Islamabad: FBR has decided to take action against those using influence for transfer posting.
According to the letter issued by the Federal Board of Revenue, it has been decided to deal with the officers and officials who use influence for choice posting. A culture of using external influence for arbitrary transfers and postings by officers and personnel seeking field assignments in FBR in particular has been observed which is cause for concern.
According to the post, mid-level officers seeking their own postings using external influence are creating a wrong model of career choice for the junior officers of the organization. Such behavior is also damaging the integrity of the institution.
It may be noted that use of outside influence is a violation of Government Servants (Conduct) Rules 1964 and Civil Servants (E&D) Rules 2020. Such unsavory behavior on the part of FBR officers and personnel may lead to dismissal from their service.
It has been decided to immediately suspend the officer and official who engages in such behavior in the future of FBR and initiate disciplinary action against him under the relevant laws. Attempts to use external influence for transfer or posting by FBR officers and personnel will be considered as “misconduct” and strict action will be taken against them.
