New York: The court has postponed the sentencing of former US President Donald Trump on July 11 until September.
According to the news of the British news agency, a New York judge has postponed the sentence given to the former president in the “hush money case” until September.
Justice Juan Murchan wrote in the judgment that he will hear the case again on September 6 and if sentencing is required, it will be on September 18.
It should be noted that the Supreme Court’s decision to pronounce sentence on July 11 was challenged by the former president’s legal team.
Lawyers had sought to overturn the conviction in the hush money case, saying the former president enjoyed partial immunity for official duties during his presidency.
In May, a New York jury found Trump guilty of 34 counts of falsifying business records, making him the first former US president to be convicted of the crime.
Recall that prior to the 2016 election, Donald Trump paid porn star Stormy Daniels in an attempt to cover up the former president’s 34 felony counts of falsifying records.
