Islamabad 05, Dec, 2025 :DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry, in a press conference , stated that one individual has become a threat to Pakistan’s national security, arguing that this person prioritizes personal identity and political interests over the state. He said this individual’s narrative is harming the country and inciting the public against the armed forces.
Army Should Be Kept Out of Politics:
The DG ISPR stressed that the Pakistan Army does not represent any political, religious, or linguistic group.He said political actors should conduct their politics without dragging the army into their disputes.Attempts to create a rift between the army and the public will not be tolerated.
No Tolerance for Incitement Against the Armed Forces
He stated that calls to provoke the public, discourage bill payments, or discourage remittances are unacceptable.According to him, one individual’s statements are being used by Afghan and Indian media to amplify anti-state narratives.
Social Media Operations
He presented videos claiming that PTI’s social media accounts were being operated from Afghanistan and India.He criticized how Indian media “happily” runs statements against Pakistan’s military leadership
Freedom of Expression vs. National Security
DG ISPR reiterated that while freedom of speech exists, statements against national security institutions are not permissible.He accused certain individuals of promoting narratives that “support the enemy’s agenda.”
Criticism of Imran Khan
Without naming him directly, he referred to PTI Chairman Imran Khan as a “mentally ill person,” saying his tweets quickly spread through Afghan and Indian media.He claimed this narrative encourages targeting the army and harms Pakistan’s security and economy.
Sacrifices of the Army
He emphasized the army’s middle-class background, sacrifices in counterterrorism, and ongoing operations against militants.He challenged critics to stand against terrorists themselves instead of criticizing soldiers.
Warning Against Anti-State Narratives
He said attempts to weaken public trust in the army will not be allowed.According to him, certain individuals are asking international institutions, including the IMF, to deny Pakistan support — which he said is harmful to national stability.
Headquarters of chief of defence forces
The DG ISPR congratulated the nation on the chief of defence forces (CDF) headquarters beginning its work today, stating that it was one of the most important steps towards providing the requisite synergy and jointness for military operations in the country.
“This was debated a lot in the media, and we understand that the character of warfare has changed — now there are multidomain operations taking place. It’s no more just land, sea and air; it’s in space, it’s in cyberspace, it is the informational domain, it’s intelligence-based, and war is fought in multiple domains,” he told reporters.
“The wars have become violent, short and intense, so to get efficiency, efficacy and economy of effort in that, the CDF headquarters was a long-awaited essential requirement, and it’s not only in Pakistan, but there are more than a dozen countries, almost more than 70 countries, where synergetic headquarters of the chief of defence are available,” he said.
The chief of the military’s media wing added that the CDF headquarters had been established on the directives and orders of the parliament; therefore, it was a “monumental and great day for the national security of Pakistan”.
