Islamabad: A high-level meeting has been held to promote trade between Kazakhstan and Pakistan.
The meeting was chaired by Federal Minister for Investment Board, Privatization and Communications Abdul Aleem Khan, in which Kazakhstan Ambassador Yerzhan Kastafin specially participated.
It has been decided to hold showcases of textiles, surgical equipment, sports goods, handicrafts, leather products and agricultural equipment.
Abdul Aleem Khan said that Pakistan and Kazakhstan will provide large-scale facilities to the business community under one roof in both countries, while both countries will increase the volume of bilateral trade by 100 percent in the next 3 years. Instead of going to different cities, the needs of foreign investors will be met in one center.
Kazakhstan Ambassador Yerzhan Kastafin expressed deep interest in establishing display centers in Pakistan and assured full cooperation.
The Federal Minister for Capital said that Pakistan is keen to increase its exports from Kazakhstan by 20 percent in a year, and will adopt a joint business strategy with other Central Asian countries besides Kazakhstan. Pakistan will establish exhibition centers for its products in Almaty, Baku and other major cities, and will formulate a policy for display centers there according to the demand of each country.
The Ambassador of Kazakhstan expressed his gratitude to the Federal Minister for Investment Board Abdul Aleem Khan for taking deep interest in bilateral cooperation. Abdul Aleem Khan said that the display centers will be established at important locations where the business community can easily access them.
The Ambassador of Pakistan to Kazakhstan, Federal Secretaries and senior officers attended and briefed the meeting.
