CPEC cannot run without Chinese security, attacks unacceptable, Chinese Ambassador
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

ISLAMABAD: China’s ambassador to Pakistan, Jiang Zedong, has said that the security of Chinese citizens is the biggest obstacle in advancing the CPEC, without which it cannot run. 2 fatal attacks in 6 months are unacceptable.

The government of Pakistan should crack down on anti-Chinese terrorists. Unless a safe environment is provided, this program cannot go ahead. Addressing the “China at 75” seminar under the auspices of Pakistan China Institute on Tuesday, the Chinese ambassador said that he hoped that Pakistan would strengthen the security of Chinese citizens, institutions and projects.

Pakistan should severely punish those who are involved in the deadly attacks on Chinese citizens. The Chinese ambassador said that their President Xi Jinping is very concerned about the safety of his citizens, he puts the lives of his people above all else. Give priority.

Whenever he has met the Pakistani leadership, he has talked about the security of Chinese citizens, institutions and projects in Pakistan.

It should be noted that there have been two deadly attacks on Chinese citizens in Pakistan during the last six months. The first attack was carried out in March and the second in October when only 10 days were left for the Chinese Prime Minister’s visit to Pakistan. The Chinese ambassador said that President Li He also emphasized the importance of security for economic development and cooperation during his meetings with the Pakistani leadership in his recent visit.

China wants to deepen economic cooperation with Pakistan, but we hope that the Pakistani government will also provide a suitable environment for Chinese citizens in this matter. President Xi has always said that security is the guarantee of development and development is the guarantee of security. Together we can crack down on terrorists.

Earlier, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar said in his address that the Pakistani government is taking action against the terrorists involved in attacks on Chinese citizens and the measures taken in this regard will make President Asif Zardari meet his Chinese counterpart during his visit to China next month. Xi Jinping will inform.

Referring to the attacks on Chinese citizens in Pakistan, Ishaq Dar said that these attacks are happening because some forces are not digesting Pakistan-China friendship. He said that despite all these challenges, the leadership of the two countries in the recent meetings It has been decided to proceed with the next phase of the package. This phase includes trade, manufacturing, digital economy, agriculture and renewable energy sectors.

On this occasion, the foreign minister also criticized the United States and said that he cannot see China becoming a global economic power. But despite all the tactics by the United States, including the imposition of 200 percent tariffs on Chinese products, China has become the world’s largest economic power. Will get the destination. He said heavy tariff on Chinese products is nothing but politics.

Ishaq Dar also severely criticized the former Tehreek-e-Insaf government and former ISI chief Lt. Gen.(R) Faiz Hameed and said that we ourselves are responsible for the current wave of terrorism, we expelled hundreds of terrorists from jails. Three and a half to four thousand were allowed to return to Pakistan and reached Kabul for a cup of tea.

Talking about the issue of Dr. Aafia, Ishaq Dar said that the current government is trying to pardon her, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has also written a letter to President Joe Biden to release Dr. Aafia on humanitarian grounds.

The American president usually gives such pardons at the end of his term. But the efforts made by us have not yet yielded any results. Lobbying will be done and efforts will be made to bring Dr. Aafia back to Pakistan by pardoning her.

Referring to the Gaza war, he described it as Israeli brutality and said that Pakistan is among the countries that have openly raised their voices in support of the Palestinians in this war. He has demanded the implementation of the decisions of the International Court of Justice.

He said that 48,000 Palestinians, most of whom are children and women, have been martyred and 80,000 have been injured in this war. Pakistan has so far sent 10 consignments of goods to Gaza to help the Palestinians. The foreign minister also expressed deep concern over Israeli attacks on Lebanon and Iran-Israel tensions.
