The Islamabad High Court has accepted the pleas filed against Awami Muslim League chief and former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed in different provinces on the same charge.
The Islamabad High Court has reserved its judgment against Awami Muslim League chief and former federal minister Sheikh Rasheed against multiple cases filed on the same charge.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri of Islamabad High Court pronounced the verdict, Sheikh Rasheed was present in the courtroom on this occasion.
Cases have been registered against Awami League chief Sheikh Rasheed in Mochko and Lasbela police stations of Islamabad, Karachi.
The Islamabad High Court accepted Sheikh Rasheed’s plea and dismissed the cases filed in Mochko and Lasbela police stations.
It should be noted that former Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed was arrested late on February 2, 2023 for his statement on Asif Zardari regarding the conspiracy to kill Imran Khan.
A local leader of the People’s Party, Raja Inayat, filed a complaint against Sheikh Rasheed for accusing former President Asif Ali Zardari of plotting to kill Imran Khan.
According to the complaint of the complainant, the Abpara police station had registered a case against Asif Zardari on the statement related to the conspiracy to kill Imran Khan, in which sections 120-B, 153 A and 505 of the Pakistan Penal Code were added.
After his arrest, he was produced in a local court in Islamabad on the same day, where the court granted his two-day physical remand.
On the other hand, on February 3, a case was also registered against Sheikh Rasheed in Karachi for using abusive language against Foreign Minister and Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari.
Cases were registered against Sheikh Rasheed in Karachi’s Mochko, Hub’s Lasbela and Murree police stations after which the FIR was sealed.
Apart from this, another case was registered on February 4 in Saddar police station against a PPP worker in which Sheikh Rasheed was accused of disturbing law and order and deliberately spreading incitement.
However, on February 16, the Islamabad High Court accepted the bail application of Sheikh Rasheed, who was arrested in the case related to the conspiracy to kill Imran Khan against former President Asif Zardari, after which he was released from jail.
