A case has been filed against Bollywood superstars Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn and Tiger Shroff.
According to Indian media, the three actors have been booked for endorsing the famous cardamom brand, which includes allegations of misleading advertising.
The actors have faced this situation for their work with the pan masala brand and its controversial tagline ‘Bolo Zaban Kesari’. The complaint has been filed by a person named Mohan Singh Hani, who claims that the advertisement promotes misinformation, especially targeting the youth.
The complainant says that Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, and Tiger Shroff are role models for many and are misleading the youth by endorsing a product that falsely claims to contain saffron.
The petition further states that the company has not provided any evidence to support its claims of saffron being present in the pan masala. Moreover, the warning on the packaging is allegedly written in such small text that it is almost impossible to read, raising concerns about transparency.
The petitioner has demanded an immediate ban on the advertisement, along with a fine on the actors and the company.
The Kota Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission has issued notices to Shah Rukh Khan, Ajay Devgn, Tiger Shroff and the maker of Vimal pan masala, directing them to appear before the court.
