District and Sessions Courts Islamabad rejected the bail of KP government officials involved in propaganda against Judge Humayun Dilawar.
In the court hearing on the pre-arrest bail applications of the KP government officials named in the propaganda campaign against Judge Humayun Dilawar, the accused did not appear in the court.
The court dismissed the pre-arrest bail application of the accused due to non-compliance. The bail application of KP’s special assistant for anti-corruption, Mohammad Mossadeq Abbasi, was also rejected.
However, the accused Siddique Anjum appeared with his lawyer Niazullah Niazi. The court granted Siddique Anjum’s interim bail till November 11 against a surety of Rs 20,000.
In addition, Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Abbas Shah approved the physical remand of the arrested Assistant Director Anti-Corruption Umar Siddique.
The Assistant Director Anti-Corruption, who was arrested on charges of spreading propaganda on social media against Judge Dilawar, was produced in the Sessions Court.
The investigating officer said that the accused Umar Siddiq had made the video viral on social media, and a seven-day physical remand should be granted for the arrest of the co-accused.
Accused Umar Siddiq in his defense said that I am the Assistant Director Admin in Anti-Corruption Circle, I did not make any video viral, I was being asked for a favor, that is why I was made accused, who made the copy of the case viral. IA granted bail.
Senior Civil Judge Muhammad Abbas Shah granted physical remand of the accused Umar Siddique for four days and handed him over to FIA.
