Glasgow: Electric wallpaper is being trialled as an alternative to central heating systems in homes in Scotland.
Electric wallpaper is being tested in 12 homes in the Scottish city of Glasgow to test its effectiveness as a transparent source of heat.
Ever since these wallpapers were installed, residents have given positive feedback about them.
Scottish houses are the oldest in Europe and have the worst insulation. Glasgow alone has around 70,000 residential flats and contributes more than 36% of the UK’s total carbon emissions.
An average home emits three times more heat than in other European countries.
Electric wallpaper on the ceiling is therefore thought to replace the central heating system and potentially be environmentally friendly.
