Actress, writer and playwright Meera Sethi, confirming her divorce after two years, has spoken openly for the first time about this personal trauma and the experiences related to it.
In a recent interview, she admitted that her married life ended in March 2023, just at the time she was busy shooting for the drama serial Unkahi. According to her, this period was one of the most difficult periods of her life.
Meera Sethi recalled that many years ago she had spoken a dialogue in a drama that “A divorced woman becomes a thorn in the society”. She said that this phrase is still fresh in her heart, but now the situation is not the same. Today, many artists in the industry talk openly on this topic, but the pain and identity crisis that arises after the end of a marriage is a big reality in its place.
According to the actress, after her divorce, she has been going through a process of looking inside herself for the past two and a half years. According to her, this is even more important for an actress because her life is often in front of the eyes of others on screen.
She added that during this time, her friends and family gave her extraordinary support, while the help of a few strangers also gave her courage.
Mira Sethi acknowledged the fact that divorce has a deep impact on a person’s identity and psychology and it takes time to endure this shock, however, this opportunity to understand the inner world became a positive and necessary experience for her.
It should be noted that Mira Sethi married her close friend Bilal Siddiqui in the US in 2019, while their engagement was a year earlier.
