Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has congratulated the newly elected Iranian President Masoud Pizshakyan for winning the presidential elections.
The Prime Minister of Pakistan telephoned and congratulated Iranian President Masoud Pizshakyan. He also expressed good wishes for Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei.
Shahbaz Sharif also congratulated Ayatollah Khamenei and the people of Iran on the election of the new president through the democratic process.
During the telephonic conversation, the Prime Minister told the Iranian President that Pakistan is keen to further strengthen its relations with Iran. Looking forward to working together to enhance bilateral cooperation in various fields including trade, energy and regional security.
On this occasion, Iranian President Masoud Pizshakyan expressed his desire to further strengthen the brotherly relations between the two countries. The two leaders also discussed regional issues and agreed to continue close contacts and consultations.
