Abbas, who returned to international cricket after three years, took 6 wickets for 54 runs, which was considered the best effort by a Pakistani bowler against South Africa.
Before him, Saqlain Mushtaq set the record by taking 6 wickets for 78 runs in Durban in 1998.
Waqar Younis took 6 wickets for 78 runs in 1998, Saeed Ajmal dismissed 6 players for 96 runs in 2013, while Tanvir Ahmed took 6 wickets for 120 runs in the 2010 Test in Abu Dhabi.
