LAHORE: Chief Justice Lahore High Court Alia Neelam has issued a written order regarding torture of prisoners and deaths in jails.
According to the details, Chief Justice of Lahore High Court Alia Neelam issued a written order for hearing on the request of Amna Riaz, Azhar Siddique Advocate appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
The petitioner’s lawyer said that the issue is very simple, incidents of death and torture of prisoners in jails are common, security is not being provided to prisoners in jails.
The petitioner’s lawyer requested that the court issue an order to provide full security to the prisoners in the jails.
On the request of the petitioner, Chief Justice Lahore High Court Alia Neelum ordered to submit a report on the incidents of torture of prisoners in jails from January 1, 2024 to September 2024.
Chief Justice Alia Neelam ordered that IG Jail Khan Jat Punjab submit complete details on the next hearing.
In the written order issued by Alia Neelam, it was said that a report should also be submitted regarding the deaths of prisoners in jails this year and their causes.
In the written order, it was said that the complete details of the complaints lodged against the torture of the prisoners should be submitted and a detailed report should also be submitted regarding the medical treatment of the prisoners.
