SYDNEY: Australia has approved plans for a large-scale solar and battery farm that will export energy to Singapore, in what is being called the world’s largest solar farm.
Officials announced environmental clearances for SunCable’s $24 billion project in Australia’s far north, which will power three million homes.
The project, which will include panels, batteries and a cable connecting Australia to Singapore, is backed by tech billionaire and green activist Mike Cannon-Brooks.
Environment Minister Tanya Plibersek said it would be the world’s largest solar park, positioning Australia as a global leader in green energy.
