Peshawar: Jamaat-e-Islami Ameer Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has said that he will use his platform against the government, will not be part of any movement.
Talking to the media in Peshawar, Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that political parties should not demand new elections, if Form 45 is available, then new elections do not become a demand, I wonder why PTI is demanding new elections.
He demanded that a judicial commission be formed regarding election rigging. In the current assemblies, 75 percent of people have succeeded on Form 47, those who talk about fake news do not talk about fake parliament.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that journalists are performing their duties in difficult circumstances but they are not getting their legitimate rights. He said that journalists are also being crushed by inflation while the entire government is running on advertisements. The PECA Act is an attack on freedom of expression which is unacceptable in any case.
He said that unrest is on the rise in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and sad incidents are happening in Kurram. There is a lack of coordination between the Governor and the Chief Minister, the provincial government should fulfill the responsibility of establishing peace in Kurram.
He said that the current situation in Pakistan is the result of post-9/11 policies, which caused the country a loss of more than 150 billion dollars. Afghanistan was our secure border, but after 9/11, this border became unsafe and the tribal people were displaced.
The Amir of Jamaat-e-Islami said that military operations are not a solution to peace, yet today there is talk of military operations again. There should be no unilateral actions because everyone is Pakistani, not an enemy. One hundred thousand people have been martyred in Kashmir, there should be talk of peace there too.
He said that the land of Afghanistan should not be used against Pakistan, only the enemies will benefit from the conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Efforts can be made to reconcile the two countries, the Afghan rulers should ensure that their land is not used against Pakistan.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman said that the path to peace is not military action but negotiations. Peace can also be established through education, health and employment. The National Action Plan also promised to give priority to education and employment, but today millions of children in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are out of schools. Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has had a single-party government for eleven years but nothing has been done for education.
Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman announced that after Ramadan, an effective movement will be launched against the reduction in electricity prices and IPPs. He said that the government was ready to talk about IPPs only due to public pressure and now there will be no compromise on this issue.
