Former national team captain and wicketkeeper batsman Rashid Latif has revealed that the announcement of Mohammad Rizwan’s captaincy will be made after a meeting with Chairman PCB Mohsin Naqvi.
While tweeting on the social networking site X (Twitter), former captain Rashid Latif revealed about the captaincy of the national team in the white ball format.
He said that the final decision regarding the ODI and T20 captaincy will be taken after the meeting between the chairman and Mohammad Rizwan, the meeting between the two is expected soon, however, Mohsin Naqvi is not present in the country due to his participation in the ICC meeting.
However, there is a hint in the tweet of the former cricketer that Mohammad Rizwan is likely to be made the captain for both formats.
Earlier, Babar Azam had announced his resignation from the captaincy due to poor performances and defeats in the T20 World Cup, after which Muhammad Rizwan was being considered as the favorite for the leadership.
On the other hand, the captain of the team will be announced before the tour of Australia and Zimbabwe.
