Indian cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, who recently retired from international cricket, has been receiving a lot of tributes from fellow cricketers and fans from all over the world for his services to cricket and his brilliant career.
Meanwhile, he received another loving message, which can be said to be the most special message he has ever received. This message came in a post on Instagram by his wife Preeti.
In her emotional post, Ashwin’s wife wrote that these 2 days have been quite a blur for me, I am thinking about what to say, should I pay tribute to the most favorite cricketer of my life? Should I say something as my life partner? Or should I write him a love letter as a fan girl? I think it is a bit of all of these.
Preethi wrote that when I thought about Ashwin’s last 13-14 years, many memories came to my mind, including important achievements. I remembered those moments when he would run for longer than usual after the match, write his thoughts on paper, watch his videos repeatedly, plan for the match, take deep breaths before going to the field for each match and listen to some songs repeatedly.
In her emotional message, the wife of the legendary cricketer wrote that I remember those moments when we cried with joy, when we achieved important achievements, after the CT final, after the win at the MCG, after the draw in Sydney, on the victory at the Gabba, on the comeback in T20 and I remember the time when our hearts were broken and we sat in silence.
She wrote that dear Ashwin, the journey from not knowing you, to being with you, seeing you, learning from you, all this has been extremely joyful.
Preethi wrote that the world you introduced me to gave me the privilege of watching and enjoying the game I loved so much. It also made me realize how much passion, hard work and discipline it takes to make and maintain your place in this game.
Ashwin’s wife wrote that now that your brilliant international career has come to an end, I just want to tell you that everything is good, everything is going to be good in the future, now is the time to reduce the burden on yourself and live life on your own terms.
Preethi wrote that now is the time to make room for extra calories, make time for your family, make time to do nothing, share memes all day, introduce new changes to bowling, spend time with your children, just do it all now.
