In a recent study, scientists have said that people who drink coffee only in the morning have a lower risk of dying from heart disease than those who drink coffee several times a day.
This study was conducted by a team of researchers led by Lou Chi, director of the University of Louisiana Obesity Research Center in the US state of Louisiana. During this study, data obtained from 40,000 adult volunteers through surveys between 1999 and 2018 were analyzed.
In the survey, volunteers reported their coffee drinking habits, including what time of day, how often, and how much coffee they drank. Over an average period of 10 years, 4,295 volunteers died, of which 1,268 died from heart disease.
Analysis of the data obtained from the survey revealed that people who drank coffee only in the morning had a 16% lower risk of dying from any cause. They also had a 31% lower risk of dying from heart disease compared to people who did not drink coffee. On the other hand, this lower risk was not seen in people who drank coffee several times a day.
Dr. Lu Chi said about the results of the study that although this study does not prove that coffee has many benefits for human health, one possible explanation could be that drinking coffee in the latter part of the day affects a person’s cardiac rhythm.
This disruption can lead to a deterioration in hormone levels, which can lead to heartburn, blood pressure, and both of these are related to heart health.
