MUMBAI: Famous Bollywood screenwriter and superstar Salman Khan’s father, Saleem Khan, has revealed that when he came to Mumbai, he got a half-room on rent for Rs 55.
During a promotional event for his documentary film ‘Angry Young Man’, he spoke about his initial struggles in Mumbai and the beginning of his life with Salman Khan’s mother, Salma Khan.
Salim Khan said that before coming to Mumbai, he lived in Indore, where he lived a quiet life, but his aim was to make it big in the film industry. To fulfill this dream, he chose the path of struggle and reached Mumbai without any financial support.
He revealed that after coming to Mumbai, he got a half-room on Marine Drive at a monthly rent of Rs 55.
Saleem Khan also mentioned that he wanted to rent a whole room for Rs 110 but this dream could not be fulfilled while due to financial difficulties, he also accepted offers to work in cigarette and clothing advertisements to earn his living. May his career move forward.
