Washington: US Republican Party leader and US Congressman Joe Wilson has said in a statement that he is preparing to introduce the Pakistan Democracy Act in Congress against Imran Khan’s conviction.
In his statement on the social networking website X, Joe Wilson said that under this act, sanctions will be imposed against those officials of the Pakistani government who are involved in the conviction of Imran Khan.
US Congressman Joe Wilson said that the draft of the Pakistan Democracy Act is in the preparation stages, which aims to impose sanctions on Pakistani government officials who file cases against and imprison Imran Khan.
In his statement on X, he said that this act will actually ensure the protection of democratic principles and human rights in Pakistan.
Joe Wilson is a member of the Foreign Affairs and Armed Services Committees of the US House of Representatives and is also the head of the Republican Policy Committee.
Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who attended the swearing-in ceremony of US President Donald Trump last month, also met with Joe Wilson during his visit.
