A new study has revealed that the chances of Earth colliding with an asteroid in 2032 have doubled.
According to scientists, a collision between Earth and the asteroid 2024 YR, discovered last year, is expected on December 22, 2032.
In the predictions made last week about the 90-meter-wide asteroid, the chances of this near-Earth celestial body colliding with Earth were 1 percent, which has now increased to 2.3 percent.
The US space agency NASA says that the agency will continue to study the asteroid and will continue to revise its collision probability as information about it and its orbit becomes available.
