NEW YORK,: Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the UN Headquarters, Usman Jadoon, while addressing the UN, said that developing countries are not able to implement new and expensive energy projects due to limited resources.
Usman Jadoon said that China is guiding developing countries around the world in solar energy, wind power energy and electric vehicle projects.
He said that more cooperation is needed to help developing and emerging economies in their energy transition.
Regarding Pakistan, Usman Jadoon told the UN that there is a plan to shift the country’s economy to 60 percent alternative and low-cost energy projects, which will be completed by 2030 and during this time 13,000 MW of hydropower will be used as energy.
According to Usman Jadoon, Pakistan is a suitable country for solar energy and wind power energy, and it has been estimated to cost $100 billion, while $150 trillion will be required by 2050.
Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative Usman Jadoon, during his address at the United Nations, further said that developed countries should play their role in these energy transition projects, so that the goals can be achieved.
