Washington: US federal agencies have instructed their employees to ignore emails sent by Elon Musk and not follow any orders for dismissal or policy changes.
According to foreign media reports, Elon Musk sent emails to thousands of federal employees asking them to submit reports of problems within 48 hours.
Immediately after this move, US federal agencies issued a memo on Sunday warning employees to ignore Musk’s instructions and only follow the orders of their chain of command.
Elon Musk, who is serving as an advisor to Trump, heads the “Department of Government Efficiency”. He offered a buyout package to 20,000 employees in the first week of the Trump administration, after which a similar scheme was introduced for another 75,000 employees.
The development comes in the wake of new hires at the FBI and State Department under the Trump administration who have been given specific instructions to release emails to employees ordering them to ignore Elon Musk’s instructions.
