For the T20 series against Australia, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) decided to make major changes in the white ball team as well as the Test team.
According to media reports, wicketkeeper batsman Muhammad Rizwan is likely to be made the captain for the white ball series against Australia, while Fakhar Zaman, Shadab Khan and Iftikhar Ahmed may be dropped from the team.
Fakhar Zaman’s fitness issues for Australia tour, Shadab Khan’s poor form may keep him out of the squad while Iftikhar Ahmed’s inclusion is also questionable.
On the other hand, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has rested senior cricketers Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi and Naseem Shah from the Test series against England.
The board is of the opinion that the three cricketers have not been dropped but rested so that they can make a comeback in the series against Australia.
In the tour of Australia, spinner Shadab Khan can be replaced by Sufyan Muqim and Mehran Mumtaz, while Kamran Ghulam, Qasim Akram, Arafat Minhas and Yasir Khan can also make a place in the playing XI.
