Rawalpindi: In the Toshakhana II case against Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi, the cross-examination of the prosecution witness could not be completed due to unavailability of the defense counsel.
The hearing of the Toshakhana II case against PTI founder Imran Khan and former first lady Bushra Bibi was held in Adial Jail, Bushra Bibi’s lawyer Arshad Tabrez could not appear in court due to illness.
The cross-examination of the prosecution witness Benjamin could not be completed due to unavailability of the defense counsel, Special Public Prosecutor Zulfiqar Abbas Naqvi requested the founder PTI’s lawyer Qausin Mufti to cross-examine the witness.
The founder PTI’s lawyer took the position that first Bushra Bibi’s lawyer should complete the cross-examination of the witness and then we will do it.
The court directed the lawyers to complete the cross-examination at the next hearing and adjourned the hearing until Monday, January 6.
If the cross-examination process is not completed at the next hearing, disciplinary action will be taken, the court said.
The case was heard by Special Judge Central Shahrukh Arjumand at Adiala Jail.
